S & K Associates was incorporated in 2016 by Merritt Krause the former President of Iowa Bankers Insurance and Services, Inc. The company purchased Southworth and Associates, a general agency for the Standard Insurance Company located in Kansas City from Don Southworth a former business associate to Iowa Bankers Insurance and Services, Inc. since 1987.
Merritt Krause, President & CEO of S&K Associates, has over 40 years insurance experience in life,health,dental and property/casualty insurance coverages. Mr. Krause prior experience includes twelve years as a member of the Board of Directors for Delta Dental of Iowa. He also was President of Iowa Midwest Insurance Company, Mid America Banking Insurance Services, Iowa Bankers insurance and Services and the Chief Administrative Officer for the Iowa Bankers Benefit Plan. Thirty five years experience in managing insurance programs for the Iowa Bankers Association. He also was a founding member of the Employee Benefits Task Force that links banking association insurance officers from across the country.
